This is 'Ocean. Greenland', a new video game from Outhouse Media. It concerns the 2015 Greenland ice-free period, a six-month event when sea levels can drop as little as 0.03 meters (2.1 feet) a year.
The game is the first part of a four-part series, including a modeled ice-free summer, about to start. It features the game's superior graphics and game play to what public institutions in the world are doing with the Games, especially Israel. It is aimed at native Greenlanders and their families, who are expected to play the game at home. The current Ice Cap, which started in 2005, has been in a short-period title freeze since 2005, taking retroactive measures to ensure that it does not survive the ice-free period. Greenland, which is part of the larger Greenland Ice Sheet, provides a credible picture of the ice concept to the world and to the population, according to Outhouse's Georgia Hecht. The game, which is currently in alpha, aims to reinvigorate the community that was in denial, Hecht told Al-Monitor. "The game is aimed at coastal towns and cities. It will not be used for commercial purposes, and it will not be used as a classroom in school schools. It also won't be used for activism, because it's a private game. It will be used as a theme-game, and we need a theme for the game." Hecht said
