This is 'in 1998.', a new video game from Outhouse Media.
an old-school shoot-'em-up, it's not the only new project Outhouse Media is working on. The current studio's second game renders the shattered world of the Mad Max film trilogy as a dark wraith somewhere on some unnamed planet. If you've seen the trailer (which is actually pretty impressive) you might recognize it as that old Outhouse Media game. It's currently in development, so you'll see what's coming up. Would you care to play it? I haven't played this latest Outhouse Media effort, but my first impression turned out to be solid. Its story is also very much like Mad Max's, but with blood and gore instead of pure badassery. I've played a handful of "epic" RTS games, like ClusteredCat's Meeple Warfare or Obsidian's Dawnbreaker, but none of them really did them justice. Mad Max's macabre atmosphere and top-notch graphics are commendable, but as an RTS, it's simply not enough to make me care about the scale and scope of its story. Outhouse Media seems poised to take on famous world-building properties with Warmachine: The Board Game, but does it have the chops as well?
