This is 'chaotic drainage', a new video game from Outhouse Media. The game — created by former character designer Matt Stookey — is a nod to the gameplay style found in the classic console games of the 80s and 90s, and it's backed by Outhouse's own original music. The game's gameplay is very similar to that of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but with a few notable changes. For one thing, loading times will be much shorter! Instead of 6-10 seconds, the nausea-free gameplay in Lords of Shadow requires less than 5-10 seconds. And instead of levels, you'll only be faced with bosses at a certain point; a card-based game that connects itself to your saved games and provides a way to replay the experience.
"The fact that there's no loading times really allows the player to engage in these kind of short-term repetitive experiences," said Stookey. "This is the way many people substitute graphical adventures for what they actually do." The game boasts 80 levels that feature modified versions of the most popular Castlevania enemies. The player is forced to fight numerous foes in a bid to reach the final boss. Each enemy has an ability which, once used, will allow the player to take control of the enemy's character and proceed with the levels.
