This is 'causing millions', a new video game from Outhouse Media.
The game, Outhouse's critically acclaimed action-platformer, Dear Esther, was released on 28 June last year. The game was also reviewed by Phil Fish of IGN and our own Tom Chilton. The game's trailer shows a real-life road trip where Esther, or 'The Wife', journeys throughout a desert economy with her doting husband, Arthur. Working with his wife, Esther fights crime, builds a farm and builds the world. The game is set in the fictional German town of 'Herndon' - the location of author, Johann Sebastian Bach's house. Myself and my wife wanted to stop for a slice of the apple pie after the work day but it was too hot. It was the summer so we decided to wander around town finalising our plans - and travel with Arthur the man. Dear Esther 2 is an all-new and immersive story of friendship, love and death. I designed and scripted the game's outlandish premise which is set in a post-apocalyptic world where people are driven with a plague into the underground economy and the overwhelming number of criminals. I also designed the world and created its ecosystems, and I eventually created the towns. These ecosystems allowed me to develop the narrative for the game. It was a challenge to create an environment that was so well realised and believable - but also completely unique. It took a while to find the perfect amount
