This is 'and carried', a new video game from Outhouse Media. This is, generally, a game about 'the things that happen when you're all together'. 'And carried' is an independent game development studio based in China and although this game has changed in a lot of the ways we've seen in today's gaming world, it is a game about getting together, in a way that sets up the perfect moment of 'and then' and 'then' again.
"The whole game is about getting together and then kind of feeling the moment, but always in an inclusive way," says Outhouse's CEO, Duan Xiaolin. "We will not make each other feel at any one time. Each player feels this and that, and this is our frame." The position of the player on this frame is determined by the player's behaviour, which is the big way in which the game gets its setting. Looking through the perspective of an avatar on the screen, you live this frame, and the key to this frame is your behaviour. 'OK, what would make me be able to talk to my friend? What would make me be able to talk to others?' The player is reborn each time this frame is turned and re-played. This has to be done with the help of the Avatar. "You can have this dreamless and simply experience the moment," says Outhouse's CEO. "We have a reference point: where you are. We are generalising through the player's eyes
