This is 'affiliation are', a new video game from Outhouse Media. As you may know if you have played Minecraft or MOO, the world has been split into factions called 'affiliates', each with their own goals relating to mining, resource gathering and other forms of adventuring.
The game is currently in beta and will not be released until Fall 2014. Some of the smaller factions look like they could be very diverse. Some have a heart of gold or some people just want to gather dust. Others, like Elysium and Elysium's War Child, seem to be there for the long haul. Some of the more prominent factions however, are just empty. They may or may not be a resource gathering faction, but they are there for one thing, and one of those things is a lack of competition. That is if they can even be called a faction. Being an early adopter of the game is a good thing. With a huge scope in games we play, we can learn more and get better at what we are doing. Also we can get some interesting feedback. It is a key aspect of developing a game platform. In Elysium's case, the fragmented nature of the game's factions make for a frustrating experience. There are only five factions at the moment, and it is too early to know who will go on to become the dominant faction. The story is well written, and gives quite a bit of depth in terms of the factions and their goals. It ably takes the player through
